Water management
the company's ESG governance structure, the EHS department is responsible for supervising the implementation of water resource management initiatives and tracking the progress of water resource management goals in real time. The power departments of each factory are the main implementers of water resource management initiatives.
We strictly abide by the local laws and regulations on water intake, water use and drainage in our operating locations , formulate the "Water Pollution Prevention and Control Management Procedure" and "Uniform Standards for EHS Performance Reporting", and complete regular review and updates. Through systematic water resource management and risk assessment, we have set rolling targets for reducing product water consumption intensity over the years, and have taken multiple measures to achieve a steady decline in product water consumption intensity over the years.
there were no incidents of Trina Solar violating any laws and regulations related to water resources .
Water risk assessment and response
We use the World Resources Institute (WRI) Aqueduct The Water Risk Atlas tool assesses the water stress of all 23 stable operating factories in China and overseas to understand the potential water stress faced by different regions .
Based on the results of the water risk assessment, factories located in extremely high water risk areas have implemented the following measures to improve water intake and water use efficiency.

So far, all factories have been operating without any incident of production being affected by water shortage.

Water conservation
Trina Solar's water resources mainly come from municipal water. Through measures such as equipment transformation, process upgrades, and recycled water reuse, each factory has effectively improved the water use efficiency of each production and operation link.
In 2023, the water consumption intensity per unit battery product was 149.94 tons/MW, a decrease of 85.48% from the base year; the water consumption intensity per unit component product was 47.14 tons/MW, a decrease of 44.40% from the base year .
By the end of 2023 , the product water intensity of cells and modules has met or exceeded our previously established water stewardship targets.

Energy Management
In 2023 , the comprehensive energy consumption per unit of battery products will reach 6.37 tons of standard coal per megawatt, a 47.47% decrease from the 2020 baseline;
2023 , the comprehensive energy consumption per unit product of components will reach 2.07 tons of standard coal per MW, a decrease of 38.32% from the 2020 baseline .
